Batteries are increasingly being used in a widening array of applications in institutional and commercial facilities, from electric utility vehicles to energy storage systems. To properly address the hazards presented by batteries, a holistic approach to battery safety is needed. Codes and standards exist that address aspects of battery safety, but there is no single, comprehensive code that harmonizes all pertinent codes and standards as the bigger picture.   在机构和商业设施中，电池正越来越广泛地应用于从电动公用车辆到储能系统等各类场景。为妥善应对电池带来的危害，需要采用整体性的电池安全方法。现有规范和标准涉及电池安全的不同方面，但尚无一部综合性规范能够从全局协调所有相关规范和标准。  

To address the issue, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is considering the development of a comprehensive standard, proposed as NFPA 800, Battery Safety Code. NFPA’s Standards Council approved the request of the Technical Committee on Battery Safety Code to proceed with the development of proposed standard as a provisional standard.  为解决这一问题，National Fire Protection Association（NFPA）正考虑制定一项综合性标准，拟议标准为NFPA 800, Battery Safety Code。NFPA标准委员会已批准电池安全规范技术委员会的请求，继续将该拟议标准制定为临时标准。 

The standard would provide uniform, minimum requirements to address fire, electrical, life safety and property protection from battery hazards.  Requirements are anticipated to include fire, explosion, and other dangerous conditions related to battery technologies as experienced from raw materials and battery production through storage, use and end of life. 该标准将提供统一的最低要求，以应对电池危害引发的火灾、电气、生命安全及财产保护问题。 预计要求将涵盖电池技术从原材料和电池生产，到储存、使用及寿命终止各阶段所经历的火灾、爆炸和其他危险状况。
